busted control arm bushings

busted control arm bushings

just found out that my control arm bushings r torn . i was thinking of getting some poly's to replace but, was told by a friend that they would make to much noise. can anybody confirm. or should i just get stock ones ?

do not get poly. get the ott mounts. they are the best bang for the buck i have gotten

do not put poly bushing inserts in the control arms. they will break. just search for some installs on here. the poly gets completely destroyed

Like everyone else said, get the ones from OTTP. I just put them in and they're awesome. No noise or anything what so ever.

You might feel sharp little bumps a bit more but it's not like the vib's you get from stiffer engine / tranny mounts.

And of course, you loose a lot of the "squishiness" in the steering

Press in, press out, theyve got loads of miles on them, Maven has like 20,000 miles on his. theres a thread about them.

do you have the keep them lubed? I read that they were sealed, but do they require regular maintenance?

sealed for life....when they need maintenence, you will no longer own the car, my guess...I would say this is a 100k mile part imho...

Have the OTTP CAB's in my car. Great product and a fairly easy job if you're mechanically inclined and have access to a press.

if you dont mind me asking... how did you come to realize something was wrong[aside from taking it the shop or w.e.]?? noise? driving issue? what?

I plan to get the Powell (OTTP) a arms this summer plus some technical advise.

These guys built the Time Attack Cobalt so you know they work.

as the others have said best bang for the buck is the ottp ones. i plan on picking up a set possibly next year as i already have a big enough parts pile to install for this year.
