CA Floor Brace

Does anyone have the Cobalt addiction floor brace and does it really make any difference? Also how hard is it to install because i have been thinking about getting one cause they look pretty cool and they are rather cheap.

I agree it looks cool, but I am not sure what difference it would make, its a FWD car and not really twisting low from torque like a RWD, I think a rear strut brace might do some good when you are really throwing the car around in autox but thats my 2cents, but yeah they look cool, should be easy to install, looks like 4 bolts, 2 on each side then twist in the middle to tighten.

Yea i think the theory is just the stiffer the better so anything you can add to make it stiffer will probably atlest make a slight difference

i've seen them in plenty of hondas, civics, tegs, preludes, all setup for track. really good in an autox too. its just a small level of reassurance strength in the center of the car. unless its a triple h frame setup the very center is not as reinforced as other areas. I had one in my old ACR, and it wasnt totally noticeable over the rest of the suspension being completely modified by that time, but i will say after that the car was completely solid.

No such thing as a rear strut brace for our cars, I am looking into getting this piece also but would like others feedback first who have installed it.

I have heard that the floor brace is pretty much a waste of money and really doesn't make any noticeable difference.

He is correct here is a link to it http://bwoodyperformance.com/product...products_id=47 and this would be a lot better than the floor brace

I have not owned one and haven't done any driving in a car with one installed. However I've seen this adjustable strut brace and all I can say is I don't like it. The way the suspension is supposed to work I believe this strut bar causes the rear trailing arm to bind during corners. I get the concept of tying the trailing arm ends together for strength but with this style of semi-solid trailing arm I believe it defeats the basic suspension design. My opinion

As for the floor brace thats total junk

^ I agree. I think that the only thing worth your money is the rear swaybar. Floor braces would be something on a subframe camaro with 500 hp at the rear wheels. Strut bars are more for show than anything else.

idk... i just installed the bwoody rear strut brace last week, car feels a lot more planted than before, feels like it is a lot more solid through any corner or on/off-ramp

front strut brace? maybe for show more than anything, but people swear by them

hum my bad man didnt know anything about it. how hard is the install?

Tennpenn - if you had to would you reccomend it to a friend?

Also, would you guys reccomend the economy or full race upgrade? and does it work with a progress swaybar already installed?

strongly recommended. it really tightens up the whole car. i find myself taking on/off ramps at 5-10 mph faster, probably more because i have the confidence to, but also because the car, overall, feels better.

install on the bwoody rear strut brace? took all of about 5 minutes, then drive around on it for a bit, then adjust it as desired. I got the full race upgrade. just have to remember to leave both ends about the same length out so if you have to adjust it, it's even on either side.
