love my h&r's been over 4 months with them and yeah the ride is somewhat stiff and such but they ride better than b&g's and sportlines.. been in a car with sportlines and i personally had b&g's on my old balt.

love the look aswell.

I am also looking at getting some H&Rs. Need new tires so this would be a great time to do both.

I'd recommend Pedders or Tein. H&R are bumpy as ****. They are notorious with that through all their applications. But if you have to choose between those two I'd go Progress.

This. I have H&R's and if the road isn't perfectly smooth you get to bounce your way to your destination . Thinking about going back to Pedders for the awesome ride even though I love the low.

Well pro's and cons here really:

H&R:
Pro- Looks
Con- Rough ride
Con- Possible Scraping

SSC/CM:
Pro- Ride Quality
Pro- Improved handling over H&R
Con- Not quite as low as some people would want.

As TommyP said in another thread:

H&r wouldn't be fun to live with where we live, and Pedders would be great but that depends on how much of a drop you want
Note that SSC is a decent amount cheaper as well, only 180 shipped. I don't have springs myself yet, but when the weather stops being snowy I'm going SSC.

Are you guys comparing h&rs on stock struts? Because with konis the ride isn't nearly as horrible as you guys make it seem...

Maybe its just me coming from having a slammed dub but honestly the h&rs ride aren't bad at allllll... lowering a car is gonna sacrifice somewhat of ride quality no matter what.. just gotta deal with it

This is the thread I was looking for! I just picked up a set of Progress springs used with super low miles for $80. Our roads are kinda crap, lots of potholes and such so I think I made the right choice buying them. Don't want to slam my car but wanted to close the wheel gap a bit. You wanted pics so heres a pic of my buddies car they came off of.

i have had my h&r for over 4 yrs. the ride quality is perfect for a car lowered this much. only complaint i have is my cv's pop when turning at slow speeds. progress drop is nothing why would you spend $$$ for not that big of a change.

also as stated earlier about the speed bumps the front plastic air dam scrapes on everything regardless if your low or super low. just take that **** like juan in his lowrider SIDEWAYS!!!

A progress drop is not nothing. It's just not slammed. And some people (like me) want that.

so with the people who have h&rs has anyones axles completely went out? I see the struts hold up well and seem to hold up long enough for me to buy coils if I did get them. Now getting into axles it looks expensive. Thats the only thing holding me from buying the h&rs over the ssc/cm springs.

Edit: I have also read that having tc axles/suspension this helps not have axle bind or any other problems? It seems just the lsj/base have had the problems

i've seen the rake on h&rs be about the same as those or level. Even with the race&sport springs

I can attest to that! The ride is very stiff if your roads aren't great your gonna bounce around bit in your seat. And our shitty plastic interior will start to vibrate. But they do improve the handling alot. In terms of speed bumps or sharp inclines I have no problem with most going straight over them. If it something I haven't driven over before or look pretty steep ill be cautious and take it at an angle. Just gotta use your judgement. The only time I ever bottom out is on dips . Correct me if Im wrong but the lower you go the tighter you want the spring to be so you don't bottom out while
driving and therefore the ride will be stiff. Gotta give a little ride quality to get that lowered look and better handling
