CED vs GMPartsDirect

Hey guys.

Wondering if I'm missing anything when I made my analysis comparing the same set of products between CED and GMPartsDirect.

On CED if you buy the FE5 Turbo Shocks/Struts in combo you pay $311.66 w/o Shipping.

On GMPartsDirect if you buy the FE5 Turbo Shocks/Struts separate you pay roughly $265.62 w/o Shipping.

What gives? Is shipping from CED cheaper than GMPartsDirect? Does CED give you something GMPartsDirect does not??

Get shipping quotes that'll tell you what gives, and of course CED you can call and talk knowledgeable people who are supporters and members of our community. Not an online parts giant has has no clue.

CED has some of the best deals on oem equipment. I've ordered like $1000 worth of parts over the past year from them.

CED's website needs work, but they are a great place to order from (if you can get through their website). I always get "page cant be found" or some other bs error when browsing their site

Yes its called service.

Yes on this product they seem to be $15.00 cheaper. One of the things they love doing is finding popular things we sell and reduce their price even more on them. You will find they don't stock 99% of the items you will check on there. The more you compair you will find that they don't stock any Ecotec engine parts, we not only stock them we are about the only dealer in the country that can usually ship them the same day you order them.
You will also never see them advertise or support this or any of the other forums.

I am always more than happy to compair and match prices with them.
Try and call them if you have a question. Try and return a part if you end up not needing it, it will be non returnable because everything they sell is special order.

I can go on, but do i need to?
See every one at the Cobalt meet in June... Just another thing they don't do.. and never give back to the comunity.

Thank you for your quesion.

Let me know what your not finding, we updated the site a few months ago and if you had any old book marks they will not work. Once again let me know if there is something you can't find.
We happen to have a phone number on our site with people who will answer it.

this. everytime i ordered from ced it was out the next day. gmpd i bought something from forget what but it was 3-4 weeks till it got here. fail. ced is here supporting the forum and are always helpful. i'm always willing to drop a few more for shops like that. is saving prob 10 dollars important enough that you wanna wait a month for parts?

I'd pay more to CED just on principle alone.

We are talking about doing a how to "clutch install at the meet" along with John Powell.
Working out the details on that yet.

I did the same thing when I was pricing out replacement parts. I think the left one was like $45, the right was $60. Shipping for one was $90 and the other was a little over $100. For like 3 pounds of plastic, if that.

I bought the Stage 1 Kit from CED and not one problem with the whole process.

my buddy bought some parts from GM parts direct and they ended up being overpriced and then they DOUBLE charged him and it was the biggest pain in the ass to get it sorted out and FINALLY after that hes been waiting over a month for parts....

to sum up

CED= James Bond
GMPD= Broke back mountain
