I Was reading multiple beneficial threads about ways to approach converting hub assembly's from 5x110 to 5x114.3. I'm not interested in drilling and filling my stock hubs or using adapters due to the wheel specs I'm going to be running with the new setup. I'm aware of the one thread that explains using grand am hub assembly's in order to do the conversion as well as working with the brembo brake stystem if lsj models were to convert. My question is, since I have a 09 cobalt LNF, will it be much easier to just swap the hubs and the hubs only since I already have the knuckles and other supporting parts used in the lsj swap. It was never specified for the LNF in the one thread if it's possible to do this and what is needed if anything else is needed. Deffinitly don't want to sacrifice not having functioning ABS

 

Talk to john powell or mongorat427 on here about redrilling the stock hubs. Grand ams arent actually 114.3, theyre 115 or 114 i believe. Just do it right.

I was looking into redrilling them but have heard from a few guys that have similar builds that there hubs gave out. Not sure if that's due to the redrill job or if the hubs can only withstand a certain amount of power. But thanks for you're input guys

 

I dont think redrilling is an issue. I have 4 years on mine and i road race. Car currently has 80k

 

Redrilling is fine. One of the members in this thread redrilled mine and they are 100% fine...3-4 years later.

 

Been on this forum a long time and not once have i read that redrilled hubs break. Idk where youre getting that. ^^ the two above me have made really good power on their cars too.

 

Well like I said in my comment above that I know 2 guys that live around me with LNF builds who had there's re drilled that had a (single) hub malfunction. That's where I'm getting it from or I wouldn't have asked lol good to know there's multiple guys who can tell me of there success.

 

I did scythe snakes hubs as well. His car makes more power. Either way you will be fine. As long as its done properly and not by joe schmoe on a drill press. It needs to be done on a mill
