Agreed, the poly ones are crap and don't last at all. Stock or ball joint style would be great.

Where in FL are you BTW?

Stock for the quietest ride, spherical (ball joint style) for the best handling. Decent roads I would go spherical. And ya, the poly ones should be illegal imho. They fail and things get real ugly real fast

Not sure on springs but the Eibach kits seem to get good reviews. Your SS with FE3 won't get quite as much drop as an LS/LT with FE1 would so keep that in mind when comparing. Not sure what suspension the vendors are using as a baseline when they spec a 2" / 2.5" etc drop.

Oh, and if one needs replacement I would just do them both. Unless you hit a pothole / curb/ whatever, the other side will not be long to follow.

you are right. here is one solution. If you buy the spherical cab deal from OTTP I can install some in some good used FE5 alloy arms for $100 additional the pair of arms. That is only if you are a Josh cusotmer, and buy the cabs, and I can install them for you. Add 5 bucks if you want ball joint heat protectors if you are auto xing...

one time deal and better than an Fe3 arm you could put the cabs in a steel Fe3 arm but it would be like putting a turbo on a Lada

Well that wouldnt be so bad if it was this lada - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DNwNPJAgv3M - - all you need is 100-200k and the engineers from Lotus to do it .

Damn, that is sooooo tempting. Few cutbacks at work lately so I am trying not to spend much right now. Got to crunch some numbers, maybe the wife won't mind if she doesn't get new drapes just yet

That is too funny

And only 100,000 pounds Sterling? A pittance

The Cobalt FE3 arms are alloy, not steel, they should take the OTTP CABs no problem.

I'm no expert but wouldn't that be a little harsh for daily use?

Not at all. I ran a custom set I made in my car for a while and loved them, really made the front end tighter, much better response through the steering, more road feel. Great upgrade. Only real downside is the higher cost than the stock setup and the increased maintenance depending on your climate, they may squeak or whatever, mine never did though.

Okay cool. It may be a mod I consider in the future but Wisconsin roads are a potholed mess but there are some good roads around that I would have to stick to. Plus I would have to have something other then my SS/SC for a winter car because salt would kill that set-up quick I would think. Hopefully I'll have my wifes old car for a beater when see finally decides on what car she wants to buy.

OTTPs CABs are weather sealed OEM spec joints, designed to last the life of a car(not sure what that really is but they will outlast polys at striaght sphericals many times), I live on Southern NJ, Ive got salt in the air year round from the Altantic Ocean and salt on the road as soon as there is a 1/2" snow, these rock.
