control arms

Hi gear-heads,

The 'balt is making a nasty metal on metal sound when the front of the car rebounds after deep compressions. After some reading, it seems that the lower control arm bushings could be perished or the strut mounts/bumpers could be well passed it. Perhaps both. Anyway I've been looking for a reason to upgrade the suspension...There are two types of aluminum control arms sold for the FE5 equipped cars, e.g.

Cobalt FE5 Lower Control Arm LH 2005 - 2007 15803766 - Crate Engine Depot

and,

Cobalt FE5 Lower Control Arm LH 2008 - 2010 25930725 - Crate Engine Depot

Would either type fit my FE1 equipped 2005 LS? As far as struts go, I prefer a somewhat softer ride. Would KYB GR-2 struts be fine? I'm not after race-car handling, just higher quality parts that aren't going to crap out on me.

Cheery'bye,
Dave
