Wink Cutting Coils

I know how stupid it is to cut your coils, but dont judge me,lol.I was wondering how much to cut off the coil on a 2006 ss/sc,i want it as low as possible.I have size 235/40/18 tires so they are a little bit wider than stock.I was wondering if anyone else has cut them, and could tell me how much to cut off.I dont care if it rubs a little when i hit a bump just as long as its not constantly rubbing.Any Info appreciated. Thanks

hit up ffdrift or whatever his damn name is..... DO NOT DO IT... it is NOT safe.

Get H&R sport springs they are as low as you can get... or buy coilovers and drop the **** to the ground properly

If you do decide to, the conclusion made before was for each half you take off on one end of the spring, you need to take a half off the other end to keep the spring rate consistent.

You also have to think off maintenance. Good luck finding someone to lift your car if you drop it.

You guys think thats bad? My sisters boyfriend had a 240, took the springs completly out, and welded the struts so they wouldnt cycle at all. Just because he though the bouncy shitty ride was cool. I told my sister if i ever saw her in that car I would kill both of them. Biggest dumb **** to ever be put on earth.

Everyone needs to just shut the **** up and let everyone build their car the way they want.

Because they want to cut their springs and go low, then it's rice..? Because you don't like it?

GTFO.. holy christ.

More like it's a safety hazard to everyone else on the road.

You need to GTFO.

Lol, all I'm saying is.. A) Its's not your car, and B) It's not your problem. If you cut them the right way there really shouldn't be a problem.. It's not like this is the first time we've heard of someone cutting springs.. Let's not make a mountain out of a mole-hill.. And I have Sportlines, AKA "Real ****".

it's not unsafe...just a **** ride. you've obviously never ridden in a shitbox with cut coils. it's a dumb idea, but there's no reason to make up **** about it. I am riding cut coils and it's a stupid idea if you go past a 3 inch drop. otherwise, it's just a little noisy and clunky. I started bouncing at a 3.5 inch drop. the good thing about cut coils is you can look like this:

the bad:

you must not make the same mistakes I have. save yourself a lot of money and just save for a little longer and get coilovers.

bouncy, clunky ride = load not properly placed on contact patch = loss of traction = unsafe. it IS unsafe.
