did I break my caliper?

I posted about this in another thread. I recently put on 4 new stoptech rotors and hawks hps pads. its been 5 days since the install. I noticed the left front rotor is not wearing out evenly. its got streaks in the middle of the rotor and in the middle of one of the brake pads. I took it off checked thru it. I couldnt figure out whats causing that? my real question is... Could I have broken my caliper by squeezing the piston back in too hard too fast? I was using the old brake pad and a really big wrench. I noticed some of the rubber that surrounds the piston was sticking out. I push most of it back in. I also notice when driving the brake pedal goes a lil further down. I just thought I just needed to do a bleed and that would fix it but i dont think thats the problem. I also noticed when coming to a stop that it veers to the right. all right im ready....... tell me did I screw my caliper up?

maybe, but not by pushing the piston in, thats how i do it. It could have just happened. When you went to take it apart, did the piston go back in?? It could be a failing caliper or rubber hose, if you do replace the caliper, replace the rubber hose, just to be safe.

Check out what i posted at your other thread, but also make sure your brake hose isnt twisted.

Its possible to flip the caliper over and install it to the bracket with the hose twisted. It will cause weird brake apply and can cause a softish pedal

Sounds like you may have damaged one of the piston seals.....any signs of fluid leakage? Fluid level in the resevoir ok?
