IMO the SS doesnt need a drop, not to hurt business to ya, but its in another thread on here, that the SS suspension is setup good to go from the factory and factory tuned, but if ya need it lower by all means go f* with it imo

Remember those piggy banks we used to put money in when we were kids and we got so excited when it would get full. Well, we're just bigger kids now and the piggy banks have grown wheels and a steering wheel. The part of putting the money in hasn't changed one bit... That's what makes this life so satisfying. No $$ for gas and insurance, but damn the car looks good doesn't she.

ALright i had a j-body a while back, now im in a ls cobalt. Im noticing there are no struts available yet. And on J's when you lowered on stock struts you were pretty much asking to blowout. Is this not an issue on the cobalts? Seems like everyones dropping on stock, is that reliable?

I had sportlines on my z24 for 3 years before the stock struts blew, but keep in mind they had 140,000 miles on them as well.

I would say it would be fine until Koni or KYB has something out later this year.

there is no way you got 3 years out of stock struts lowered. My 01 Z24 had around 30K miles on it when I lowered it and the struts were completly dead within a few weeks. It was less then 5K after the drop I replaced them with Konis. You should not lie to get business. Everyone I know that had a cavalier blew the struts quickly on a drop.

Hey man, not trying to lie to anyone, I still have the Eibachs on, i bought the car with 42k miles and have never changed the stocks at all. I mean they are blown now but i have over 150k on the car, they seemed to work great for me. Dont know what it was.

Actually either stating that they will last awhile or blow out really quick is wrong. There is no time line on when the stock struts/shocks will go after drop springs are installed. They vary all the time on every make of car/truck.
So just because they blew on a Cavalier means absolutely nothing. And stating that they will last for a while should be taken with a grain of salt.
It is good practice to replace the struts/shocks when installing lowering springs.
