eibach pro-kit review

whats up guys, ive been looking to lower my cobalt, was really looking into the pedder springs and ss/tc struts and shocks as my buddy has them on his 09 ss and i love the way it rides and handles great, but i have a chance to get my hands on a brand new set of eibach pro-kit, now ive had a pro-kit before on my 99 neon r/t coupe and i liked the stance and the ride, im wonder what u guys think of the pro-kit? i notice the drop is the same at the pedders, but i wonder how they ride?? thanks for any info guy

Depends which eibach you get. If you get the sportlines the drop will be more than the pedders springs.

The pro kit rocks. If you're looking to slam the car or just lower it, then don't get them. If you're into daily driving in the winter and on shitty streets, and want a better handling car, then by all means go for it!

Here's the stance:

here's a pic of my LS on the pro-kit, lowered about 1.5 inches all the way around but it could be a little lower in the front for my liking.. i put on OTTP rack spacers and MOOG end links at the same time with stock shocks and struts and the ride is pretty comparable to stock, a little harsher at times but not bad at all. oh and this is with 205/60/R15's

I have them on my 2.4 sits a bit lower corners flatter. Sometimes its hard to feel a rode quality difference over stock. Overall I do like them and am glad I bought them. I wanted better handling and to be a bit lower but still look fairly stock. Mission accomplished.

I, too, have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit springs (and I've had them since 09 on the Cobalt and since 06 on my Saturn Redline). I like(d) the ride and the improved handling for both.

I'm leaning toward the Pro-Kit for my '10 LT. Just wanted to rid the 4x4 rake. Are the spacers necessary? My stock FE1 struts/shocks are fine at 27k so I might leave them.

I am looking into the pro-kit too on my 08 sport. I saw some guy in the classfields selling some SS/TC springs, and springs/shocks/struts from a SS/SC. I dont want to lower my car a lot (winter driving). Could it be a good replacement?

My car is an 08 Sport and after it settled I ended up being just a bit lower. Got rid of the factory rake and the car feels more responsive without being harsh. Look through my posts for some pics of the car.

Im very happy with the pro kit. Sadly I will be replacing it due to the bodyshop having replaced one spring with an FE3 factory spring during my wreck on the ice.

Dont bother with the sportlines if you want handling though. They are only good for the drop. Ive been in sportline equipped cars and they definitely didnt handle as well.

so are steering rack spacers needed with these? i'm still leaning toward trying these, ppl say go pedders for handling and not big drop but these win for the price

you mean rack spacers? for $20 from OTTP or TTR i think they are worth it (got mine from OTTP), i also recommend replacing the sway bar end links with new Moog FE5 (SS) end links as well. with this combination the handling will be excellent

edit: i believe you also need to be 5 SPEED to use the rack spacers!

yes, that is actually probably what you are hearing and not the steering rack. the stock end links go very quickly which make the noise and make the steering sloppy. the Moog ones are about $30 each from Advanced Auto Parts (you need 2 obviously) but they are all solid and also greasable. my steering tightened up dramatically with the Moog ones

Rack spacers I believe arent needed for the pro kit as it doesnt really drop you much.
However yes the endlinks are known for going bad. As was said just upgrade to the FE5 links. If they have 2 sets (dont know why they do) typically its the shorter set.
