Fe5 on base model

So tonight I was trying to change my control arms and for the life of me I could not get the cylinder on the ball joint to slide in. Is there a way to do this or is the fe5 control arm not compatible with my 06 base model?

Only the SS/SC FE5 control arms fit. I did a complete fe5 swap on my Base model when I had it.

Consisted of
FE5 SS/TC struts and shocks
FE5 moog endlinks
FE5 SS/SC control arms
Fe5 SS/TC sway bar

If ircc you have to spread the knuckle with a large flat head, insert the ball joint end and tighten with a clamp. Maybe Powell will chime in with the correct method

^^that is correct. the new arms have a 20 mm nominal ball joint pos diameter, the sc arms are 19 mm.Roughly. Not a deal breaker.Use a big chisel in the slot provided to open it up, dont go crazy. The cross pin bolt tightening procedure is: 37 ft lbs then undo 3/4 turn, then re torque to 37 ft lbs.
