Sad.
The tire height should not change by a significant amount, otherwise, each wheel and tire combination would need its own speedometer calibration.
Now, checking for rub, that's another matter.

Just ask Eibach how many Sportline kits they sell versus how many Pro-Kits they sell....

205 50r17 = 25.07" over all diameter.
225 40r18 = 25.08" over all diameter.
.87" difference in diameter, puts the center of the hub on an ls / lt .435" closer to the road than a sport or ss. Pretty close to the 1/2" noted as the drop from fe1 to fe5 springs.
Stick 18's from an ss on your lt and you will sit .435" higher........

The difference in suspension trim height is 13mm in the front and 25mm in the rear between SS and LS. You cant go measuring fender heights because if everything is in spec they will be the same. Tire pressures, how level the road is, etc all affect vehicle height. but 13mm in the front and 25mm in the rear is the difference in suspension height.(axle to underbody, and control to frame level, these measurements arent affected by tire size like fender height)
Ive had LS, SS/SC, SS/TC and Pedders springs in my car.
