Few problems with suspension and brakes.... Looking for some guidance

I am having some problems with my brakes and suspension on my Cobalt and I am having trouble fixing the problems so I am hoping you al may be able to help.

First off, as for the brakes: I have a 2007 Cobalt SS/NA and i have roughly 38000 miles on it. At approximately 36000 miles I had to have the front pads replaced, and at that time, I also had the shop resurface my rotors. After they replaced the pads, I noticed some screeching noise coming from the front when I was braking. I took the car back to the shop and they said that I just needed to drive the car for a while and brake the pads in. With that being said, I drive the car roughly 100 miles a day, back and forth to work, and it is in traffic, so the brakes are getting plenty of use. Now, 2000 miles later, I am still hearing the screeching noise, but I am also getting a slight grinding when braking at low speeds. I took the car back to the shop, and they told me the same thing again, they just need to be broken in. I don't fee like this is right.

Now for the suspension: When the car had about 10000 miles on it, I installed Sportline springs. Up until this point I have not had any issues with them, but now when I hit any bumps, I am getting "thud" sound coming from the front of the car, mainly the drivers side. Would this be worn shocks?

Please let me know your thoughts on these issues, and what I could do to fix them.

Thanks.

you're right because there should be no screeching noise so the shop definitely screwed up big time. my recommendation for fixing it would be to file a complaint with the the better business bureau of the u.s. because you're not happy with the work done on your car and you keep getting the same answer from the shop but it's the wrong answer. that ought to be put a stop to their useless answers otherwise you could just take it to a different shop to get another opinion

as for your suspension, it might be worn struts but i'm not 100% sure.

front suspension clunks in Cobalts are most often the swaybar endlinks.

Your brakes may have been resurfaced improperly, you could have dry, improperly treated caliper slides and pad abuttment plates, or just a weird/noisy pad compound. Or some combination of the 3(most likely)

shes right..take it to get a second opinion and file a bbb complaint..if its grinding now it is possible they installed them wrong or didnt even change the pads....which is fraud

Make sure the grinding isn't just dust shields, or something wedged between the dust shield and the rotor. It's not the LIKELY cause, but it is a possible cause. It's also easy to fix with spending $$$...
