Front end clunk?

Hey all. Today i was driving my 05 ss and theres a clunking noise that sounds like its coming from the passenger side front wheel area (what i think at least). It has megan racing coilovers. The DP rubs on the steering rack a little but its never made any noises like loud clunks. i only hear it when im moving. it started today out of nowhere. any ideas what it is?

Try liking at your steering shaft, they tend to dry out easily, rock the steering wheel side to side and listen for clunking sound.

Be more descriptive of when the sound happens, where, how, when, what exactly is the sound. Maybe a video? Help us help you.

most common cause I see at work is swaybar links. followed by the rear bushing on the lower control arm. need to know when it happens for a better diagnosis.

If it's a clunk more common over small bumps and dips in the road it's probably your control arm bushings. That's what's happening with me.

I only replaced one and it fixed literally half my average clunks.

I'm also replacing the sway bar links and sway bar bushings while I'm down there the second time since it seems almost trivial compared to the control arm bushings, and are another reported source of clunking. The last thing I've found in my research is strut tower mounts which I haven't even looked at yet - fortunately cheap as well though.

The steering gear "clunk" is more of a rattle IMO, at least on my car, and is so infrequent that I don't even care (yet).
