fuckin rear brakes
can i put a rear brake setup from a 06 ss on my 08 or what seems to be the best setup for the 08
|
You'd have to swap the entire axle.
|
Have fun with that. The brakes on the '08 SS are FAR better than the '06. Case in point, rear rotors on '08 are vented, '06 are solid.
Just change pads away from factory and try again. |
thanks good to know i never had a problem with my 06 but the 08 has trashed 2 sets roters and 1 set of pads at 25 k
|
Dont swear in your titles anymore.
Oem replacements are good obviously. Hawk hps pads lots of people are running. Also r1 concepts rotors a lot of people use |

my rear brake are being replaced here shortly under warranty because the slide pin stuck and trashed my rear brakes, getting new calipers, pads, and rotors

Make sure your brakes are WELL lubed. Get new rotors (smooth is best), and get OEM pads if you want the best stopping strength. If you're more concerned with preventing dust, get hawk hps. I bought drilled/slotted, and hawk hps, and I wish I had stuck with stock. I like how the hps pads don't dust, but they don't stop NEARLY as good as stock, and I wish I still had smooth rotors because I'm afraid of my drilled ones cracking if I do a track day or two. They do look good though. The stock pads are fine as long as the brakes are lubed, although a stronger rotor is a better idea.
