Hard Steering 06 Cobalt SS 2.0

Hello,

I want to thank you in advance for looking into my issue. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS 2.0 Supercharged that has hard steering. I have changed the electric steering pump twice (used) both were tested off the vehicle and appeared to work fine. I swapped the steering rack (used) I tested off the vehicle and was able to turn in no problem. The parts taken off the vehicle were also tested after wards and appeared to be fine as well. I checked the fuses in and out the vehicle in relation to steering and both were good. The U-joints on the intermittent shaft seems to be fine not stiff at all. I can't seem to figure out what the problem is? My friend used a 12v probe tester with the car on and stated that the electric motor was not getting any power. I am out of ideas and help is greatly appreciated.

Wow! That plug is not connected. The engine was rebuilt and after that it had no steering. I have been struggling with it since then. Where does that plug come from? I tried to look for it but I couldn't find it.

I would need to check my car but that's what gives the steering power, that's why your steering wheel is so hard just look for it behind the fuse box or maybe even under and connect it

I found it hidden under the fuse box. After I plugged it in the steering worked again. It had been a struggle driving with it like that for months. Thanks!
