thankyou for the link. you just need to know what to type in the search. I have to admit and it is apparent this not a skill I shine in. I at least made an attempt!

Yeah the rear only and it makes sense to me. the front is not lowered as much as the rear. the rubber on the front goes around the shaft of the strut and the strut mounts are also rubber mounted. the strut bumper will have more squish to compenstate. again only an inch lower so its not that drastic.

the rear is a solid block on the back. it is not as plyable and does not have a hole in the center to squish out easier. the drop is close to 2" to in the rear so it needs some help. pull out the hack saw.

Thanks again Dark Age 53.

AND THAT CONCLUDES ANOTHER EPISODE OF "THE LOST NEEDING GUIDANCE" on the Cobalt SS Channel. TUNE IN FOR MORE EXCITING ENTERTAINMENT AS THESE GUYS TWEAK AND GROW BIGGER, BETTER, and MORE COMPETITIVE MACHINES IN THEIR GUEST FOR DOMINANCE IN TUNERVILLE.

Okay. Dont flame me. That was gay but I think you get my drift. I come here for advice and I like to share my knowledge too. thanks to all

You're welcome. As I've said in other threads, we need a good write with pics on this mod.

ssnipes, drive your car down here to Michigan and we'll get those springs installed and do a good write also.

Yeah I will do that what is your address. I think I could get there in 4 days as I want to sight see. oh make that five days cause I want to race. oh make that 7days as I have to wait to see if I won the lottery! LOL

Honestly I would take up on a offer like that but it will be cheaper for me to pay someone to put them in. I plan to take pics. Maybe I will do a write up then and it is done by experts. The guys I know wont like the picture idea but I dont need much.

There is no need to trim the bumpstops! I've been running Sportlines for almost a year and it does not bottom out.

O.K, be that way, just kidding.

In my opinon a good write up should have a photo of everything that is mentioned in the write up, taking photo's as you do the install would make the install take a little longer to do but it would help out a lot of guys in the future.

Like you, I'm not good at making it look like an expert did the write, I posted this in another thread showing how a good write should be done http://users3.ev1.net/~cnl1/firehawk/subframe/index.htm . dudeman from the old SLP forum put that together, he did a great job and that's what I'd like to see done here with the lowering spring mod.

I was wondering the same thing as i'm installing mine tomorrow. But not trimming the bump stops is great. 1 less step to do then. I trust JapEatr on what he says as he is a suspension tech, i guess u can call him, and from what i've read from his posts he seems as a perfectionist as well.

JapEatr: I know you recommend notching the front but is it really necessary? I know you will be able to adjust camber but is it really that much off? just curious

you will need to adjust camber otherwise it will pull toward the side with the most camber, in order to do so it will require notching the bolt hole with a grinder, but after aligning mines_better & TXRLUs, i would say notch the top bolt hole only, this allows for gradual adjustment +- about a degree each way

So notching it would be grinding the hole bigger back and forth?

I was just reading the info that came with the Sportlines and it says to cut the bump stops.. 30mm for front and 15mm for rear.. but i'm wondering if that is for regular cobalts and not the ss/sc because up top it says 2005-up cobalt

Now its there that cutting the bumpstops may help

All we are doing is allowing a little more supension travel on a hard hit so you dont feel it through out the car and it will enhance handling on the hard hits. it can mean the difference between skipping through a corner (hit bump stop) or absorbing it with adequate suspension stroke (bump stop cut) and still able to hug the corner.

Pro kit would not need a trim. LS and base cobalt may require the cut and SS/SC no cut. That is why I want some one to send me the copy of Eibach's instructions that came in the box.

SOme one help me out please.
