help! fe5 on an lt

i searched with no success but my younger cousin has a 07 lt and wants to know if fe5 suspension is a direct fit. she needs1 lower control arm 2 and struts. the shop wants to charge her $788 for both struts and $225 for lower control arm. create engine depot is cheaper all around so we are thinking ss/tc shocks/struts, and both fe5 lca's with ss/sc springs question is do they all fit on a 07 lt?

Yes the struts and shocks are direct fit along with the springs. I would really get SS/TC springs since they are made to go with FE5 struts and shocks. If you need lower control arms you have to get the SS/SC FE5 ones because the SS/TC ones wont fit.

Almost correct. The SS/TC FE5 LCAs will fit, but you have to make the hole for the control arm bushings a little bigger. I can't remember exact dimensions, but the diameter on the SS/TC bushing is slightly more than that of the FE1 LCA. If you're comfortable with making that kind of mod, go for it. I can confirm that it WILL work though since I've had SS/TC shocks, struts, LCAs, and Pedders springs on my LS for months with no problems

So what did you do to make it fit? I was told because of the different front knuckle they would not match up and your better off with the SS/SC ones. This is great to know because I have been wondering this for months.

I can't remember specifics, but all you really need is about a 2 or 3 inch long circular grinding tool (I can't remember what diameter the one I used was, sorry) to make the hole for the bushing ever so slightly larger. Without any modifications though, the SS/TC LCA's bushing ALMOST fits. I didn't know the bushing was larger until I had the new LCA on the car. Big surprise to say the least, but it worked out. I think if you were installing the LCA then you'd see how little a difference there really is size-wise. It's a fairly easy little modification to make if you have the courage to do it.

The difference is minor, less than 1mm I believe. You can expand the ball-joint clamp area of the knuckle, install the LNF control arms, and re-clamp, with no issues.

^That works too. Whatever is easiest for you.
