How to know when you need new rotors?
My car has around 19,000miles and I know I need to pads, but how do I know if need new rotors?

Measure them. They are stamped with a minimum allowable thickness. If they are under that, then toss them. If they are decently over, then have them turned and put new pads on.
If you feel shuddering when you are breaking, that would be a sign of warping and you should get rid of them. But at 19K, you shouldn't need either pads or rotors. Unless you drive very, very hard. lol
My front rotors were groved bad by 30k miles, even though the pads were still ok I replaced both. I you don't replace the rotors have a shop turn them and see if they are still thick enough to be safe for another go around.
My cobalt seems like a death trap. Within like 2 months of owning the car, 3 people cut me off so bad that the anti-lock brakes kidded in leaving a rubber trail behind me. I'm at 18k rpm and my rotors are so grooved, I could change lanes just by applying the breaks
18k rpm, damnn thats fast! you got a vtec engine or what!
