Smile How to make my ride smoother?

I just got my 08 Cobalt SS.

I am actually quite happy with the way it handles as a spirited daily driver.

My question is, is there a way, without sacrificing handling ability to make the ride smoother? It's a little jarring and loud for the craptastic roads around where I live.

Any bushings, or specific strut/spring setup anyone can recommend?

Thanks

i hear yyz springs ride better... other than that i guess you could swap to base suspension, haha.

but seriously stock is like riding on a cloud compared to coils...

Try a tire with taller sidewall
I went with 225/45-18 and it made a difference

re

have to get new tires soon anyways so I might try the 225/45 18 idea. Any rub on the front with those thicker tires?

Only thing you can do is a bigger tire.. The stock suspension is meant for the most possible comfort with a little performance in mind.

I don't think mine is all that smooth even on YYZ V.3, Koni's both front and rear (although I do have an XXX rear swaybar), this is also on 17x7 ion redline wheels with a 225/45/17 tire (Kumho Ecsta 4x). During the summer I run LNF wheels and stock tire size. It handles amazing and if that's what your looking for then this is a worthwhile upgrade but if you do it solely for a better ride you'll be disappointed.

Swap to a full FE1 suspension and go with 17" wheels like andrewcarr1993 was saying. You will lose performance though.

Moog front end links
Maybe new control arm bushings

Stock suspension you will get used to, once you get comfortable with the car. You can run the 45's, and those will fit even with yyzs if you want to go lower eventually (you'll get the itch). Yyzs will be similar to stock. Sounds like you need new tires, a high quality tire with reviews of low road noise would be my recommendation. That will help.
