The Importance of good brakes

So as i'm driving home today on route 23, going about 60 mph, which is the speed people drive, some ******* in the right lane i guess almost missed his exit. So he decided to pull from the right lane, and cut me off and slam his brakes to get to the exit on the left side of the highway. I slammed my brakes, literally misses sideswiping him by inches, and came to a complete stop about 6 inches from the curb. Anyone familiar with route 23 north going up towards jefferson past west milford knows that if you hop the curb, you're going in a ditch and it won't be pretty. It's very hilly, rocky, and steep. It's fairly safe to say that if I was on stock brakes, or just got some cheap replacements my car woud have been totalled, and I would have been badly hurt. 6 inches from what would have been a real shitty day.

Let that be a lesson to the people that need to replace their brakes, and want to just go with whatever's cheapest. Cheaping out in this scenario would have meant bye bye cobalt, and possibly bye bye me.

good brakes and better reaction. situational awareness is the key to driving safe.

ebc rotors and hawk hps pads. when i was bedding them i almost stalled the car from 50, that's how much better than stock they stop.

I highly recommend that setup.

It's fantastic, sounds sick. I just gotta find some time to throw the 2.4 intake mani on there.

Car definitely sounds like it has a sack now.

i was on the parkway around exit 151 two days ago and some tractor trailer cut from the exit lane across four lanes into the cop transfer lane (to get from one side of the highway to the other). couldnt BELIEVE it. didnt hit anyone, but he was too big to fit in the lane completely, and some suv went slamming into the back of his truck at around 50 mph. it was scary. two cars hit into that suv. everyone was ok, but that truck driver sure was in a lot of trouble. new jersey drivers seem to be getting worse...

glad you're ok man
