important question about sportlines!
ok my friend has eibach sportlines that he is willing to give me for free!
except
they are for an 01-05 volkswagen gti...
im pretty sure they are 4.6185
we need 4.9938
question is... will they fit?
i know the gti and cobalt are kinda similar in terms of weight
can anybody measure the diameter of the top and bottom of sportlines so i can check?
thanx

yea ill do that...
another problem i have is not being able to decide which springs to get.
i used to want sportlines.
then i wanted ssc for a raked stance but heard they werent very good
now im back to sportlines but am considering others like maybe progress zenn or h&r. i have an ls with 18 inch rims that kinda looks like a 4x4 and i still want a stance thats at least level. what do you guys think?

i dont see how you want help on trying to fit vw springs on a cobalt. logical thing to do is use common sense and just sell them and that will pretty much cover the cost of new springs designed for the car your trying to put them on
ha thanx for the help but for one i wasnt asking HOW to fit the springs on i was just asking IF they would fit and using my common sense i knew that the gti and cobalt were similar in weight and function so i dont see the huge problem there. second, im pretty sure that selling used gti springs somewhere isnt going to pretty much cover the cost of brand new sportlines. my friend told me he would give them to me at no cost and i was just wondering if it was a viable option. i learned it wasnt, but definitely not from you.
thank you for being the only jackass on this thread and the only one that didnt help at all...
to the others: is 07MetallicSC always an ass or is he just on my case?

Peddars offer the best handling and a raked stance. They are the best springs out for the Cobalt right now.
We don't come out of the womb knowing how everything works. What may seem obvious to you could be less obvious to those who aren't born with a wrench in their hand. Cut the guy some slack.

Sportlines are good springs. I dont know why everyone suddenly hates on them for some reason. At one point they were the most popular spring on this forum. There a good all around spring. Do they handle the best, no, do they give the lowest drop, no. They give low drop without the steering clunking some of the lower ones give you and they give decent handling and a decent ride quality. Pedders handle better, but i MUCH prefer the look of the sportlines. The ass end of the pedders does look high. Its all up to what the owner wants out of there car
wow 07MetallicSC is a ***
i thought you were just having a bad day or something after you apologized but then you make a dumb rx8 statement that doesnt even fit in with your joke... sportlines are a brand of AFTERMARKET SPRINGS that have many competitors with different sizes and spring rates. putting on an oem rx8 windshield on a cobalt is just retarded and i know that. is my question really that dumb? i have a pretty good understanding of how springs work and how to install them but i had no clue that my question was totally idiotic
sorry this is just my personal first time meeting a douche on css.net
anyways im prob just going to save up for the pedders fe5 combo because my shocks are already starting to make funny noises and with springs im even putting more strain on them
