Installing sportlines

Alright guys.. so I am stuck.. I have removed the front struts and can not get the stupid center bolt off.. I know you got to hold the strut from spinning and such.

We tried that how -to with the allan key and the rubber gip thing, and also a pipe wrench onto the socket.. Thing will not budge.. My buddy ran to get an impacted gun?> I have heard this will work.

Need some help

Do you have the spring compressed enogh? If not it will hold pressure against that bolt. Also please take some pics when you are done.

alright so we tried the impacted gun and it still dont want to budge.. now when we compresss the springs, should they be able to slide up and down within the strut?? or just enough to get it off the top of the base

What I did was to use a 3/4 inch drive socket, grab the socket with vice grips, use a T-45 torx wrench go down thru the hole where the rachet would go and hold the torx wrench from moving, then turn the socket with the vice grips and it SHOULD pop loose.

IF for some strange chance it doesn't then your stuck till tomorrow when you can get the proper tool from your local Snap On truck. I don't have the part # but the tool does the exact same thing as my home made set up, just a little easier is all.

Best of luck to you and let me know if this worked for you.

My buddy had the same problem with his Mustang springs. He you need a impact gun that will put 400-800 ft pounds of torque to get those bolt off.

The problem is the struts center is spinning, an impact gun will only spin it faster! He needs to hold the center from moving, Snap On sells a tool that solves this problem for like $40.00. My way is the back yard way but it still works.

Cant you bolt the strut back in the car and pop the nut loose before you unbolt the strut because that should keep it from turning. Good luck though and post pics when you are finished.

Did you try my fix? It works as I just used it on mine and Devons cars 2 weeks ago when I dropped them both. Worked for all 4 of our front struts.

best of luck to you.

I jsut installed my tenzos this weekend and I got stuck there too and its wasl ike 2 inthe morning so there were noo shopes open what we did is...

take a 13/16 ( I believe thats the right size) spark plug socket and put it on the nut at the top of the strrut then take a torx (if you have the right size) but I didnt soo we took a 6mm (90 degree) allen wrench stuck it through the spark plug socket, take wrench hold the socket take a hollow pipe and hold the allen wrench (stick the allen key in the pipe soo its longer, more leverage) with that and kick it in the right direction, lol worked for us first try. I proboly described something wrong soo if I notice someway eaiser to describe that ill let you know
