JBP Strut Bar

Has anyone purchased this one instead of the DC Sport? I'm located in Canada so it will be cheaper for more, it also claims to be stronger than the DC Sport. Check supporting vendors for link to Jbodyperformance website.

yea I got one too! it's great. Be careful of a little black screw when installing, it'll seem like it could never fit, but there is a screw that gets in the way. It looks clean as well

(i also want the jbp rear tower strut)

Why is this one better than the other one? They are pretty close to the same price.

Because JPB says so. Cobalt Addiction also sells a polished strut bar. Find the strut bar that tickles your fancy.

I have the JBP bar, it's very beefy and solid. I'm happy with it. (My car is probably the one Ssnipes was referring to)

a strut bar is a strut bar. Beefier or not, they're gonna do the EXACT same thing and you would never notice a difference between the two when driving. Strut bars barely make a noticeable difference in the handling of a car as it is. Most people buy them for the cosmetic appeal they provide. The only real difference between one strut bar and another is weight, as some strut bars are titanium, some carbon steel, some carbon fiber etc. But even then, its such a small weight difference its not gonna make any real difference. Its all really what the consumer is looking for in terms of design and color/finish.

The JBP Strut Tower brace is made from CNC laser cut 14 gauge steel. Our key to design is a 60degree relief at the tower mounting point, which makes the brace 11% stronger than the DC Sports strut brace and 48% stronger over no bracing at all.

With that said I can agree and disagree with ^. I think you would notice a differance from a stock car and using a strut bar, but between the DC and JBP you should not notice anything differant. It is mostly about looks but at the same time it will help slightly.

not to sound mean/cocky, but whoopee. 11% stronger this, 48% stronger that.......it still will feel the same. If someone removed my DC Sports strut bar and swapped in a JBP strut bar into my car while I was sleeping, and I took it for drive on some twisty roads the next morning, I guarantee I wouldn't know any difference in the handling of my car. Like I said, it all boils down to personal preference. Sure, some strut bars may be superior to others in terms of technical specifications, but when it comes to such a minor part, it really makes no difference in what you choose. The honest reason I chose DC Sports was b/c it pairs nicely with my AEM cai, considering the brands are part of the same corporation. (AEM owns DC Sports).

well I have seen DC bars and JBP bars. the JBP bars fit better, have better quality, and get the job done better. Some DC bars come with manufacturing flaws as well (missed computer weld, tower plates have known to be bent right out of the box). so strength is kinda a important consideration. DC bars remind me of a cheap flimsy butter knife IMO.

Oh and to point out I am not biased as I did not buy the DC bar.

haha I guess man. Me, my girlfriend (who has an '05 Tiburon), my friend Andy (who has an '06 xA), his girlfriend Ashley (who has an '06 Fit) and a guy I know Chris ('05 Cobalt LS), all have a DC Sports carbon steel front strut bars, and none of us had any fitment issues or bent tower plates/missing computer welds, etc. I guess you just had some shabby luck in the past. But for me and my friends, the bar is 5/5. Can't argue with statistics. Plus, I gotta say that the gray finish of the bar is gonna go nicely with my gunmetal Axis Reverbs when I get them.

More power to the JBP strut bar owners though. If its better, then get it! But I love my DC Sports CS-1!

Yea I've had my DC Sports Strut Bar for about a year now and it fit perfectly I also think it looks a lot better than the JBP one. And like everyone said it is not very noticeable at all so i suggest getting springs and the Progress rear sway bar at the same time and then you will notice a very nice improvement

I dont know, has anyone seen a jbp strut tower bar installed before? It's amazing looking. It looks more solid, and I think they did a great job with it. You might have to see a picture of it installed to get a better picture in your mind about it...

The DC one just looked too weak from all the pictures I've seen.
