Just installed my sportlines but.....
I just put my sportlines on today on my 05 Balt 2.2L, but it seems like the springs in the back of the car are basically fully compressed...haha they look like a big slinky basically. The ride is fine and i don't get any botoming out at all. Just wondering if this is normal for we 2.2L guys? I mean there could be a few springs not compressed that im missing. I dunno? Any help would be great...Thanks!!
The top portion of the springs will be compressed for wheel travel. This way, if you hit a bump, there is still decent travel for the wheels without any issues. Think of Baja trucks, and the wheel travel that they need for a smooth ride, same basic concept.
Ohhhh ok i was just concerned cause from what I saw it looked like the whole spring was being pressed down. But like I said there may be a few coils I couldn't see. Didn't want anything to be mesed up already lol it hasn't even been 24 hours!
Now, if the bottom of the coils were fully compressed it would be a different story. That's what my old springs looked like and the rears bottomed out ALOT. I have the Sportlines on my SS/SC and I LOVE em. Had em on there for a couple months now.

Well the part thats compressed is the part closer to the road....guessing thats the bottom right? lol But like I said it rides fine no popping sounds no nothing....sits level just like it should

Thanks Discount tire direct lol. But personally I think it looks great and it does sit perfect...but thats my opinion. Pics soon man i promise!

Sorry I missed responding to this sooner.
What you are describing is called "progressive rate coiling" Only Eibach does it. The coils of the spring get tigher along the length, instead of being linear along the full length. While the coil appears compressed, it does actually expand and contract. The idea is that the spring will give easily at first, giving a nice road ride. But it gets tighter exponentially as more force is applied, make it get very firm and agressive the more you squeeze it.

And halfcent, I talked to a guy at work and he told me something along what you said just not as in detail. Thanks for the answer though, it definatly clears it up. I got a better look today when taking the lowered pics and the bottom few coils are actually not completly compressed soo i'm all good
thanks again for everyones help!
hahaha yeahhh i took the chrome off cause I had to put the springs and new rotors on. Probably going to leave them off for a little cause Im going to paint the brakage lol. Thanks for all the compliments!
