Talking Kappa suspension upgrades

The Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roll out of the factory with a tremendous suspension package that can add some excitement to your everyday city driving or during those weekend adventures through those twisty side roads. However, if you tend to spend more time on the track than on the street with your Solstice or Sky, you’re probably looking to make your Kappa tighter in the corners so you can whip it around any apex with confidence.

Luckily, GM has you covered with suspension upgrade kits to bring your Solstice or Sky up to competition spec no matter what suspension package it was equipped with from the factory. All of the kits we’ll cover for you here were designed and tested by the fine folks at GM Performance Parts so you know they’ll perform at high standards day-in and day-out.

The first upgrade targets those enthusiasts that opted for the no-frills Kappa that came with the FE2 suspension package. This upgrade consists of complete front and rear stabilizers and the new bushings and end links to go with them. As an added benefit, this kit will also lower the ride height of your vehicle to give it that aggressive stance we all look for and also lower the center of gravity to decrease body roll. This upgrade works on all-year Sky and Solstice models and can be ordered via the GM part number 17800028.

The next kit is for the FE2 owner that never leaves home without his SNELL-approved racing helmet. This kit contains everything in the aforementioned upgrade but also adds a set of re-valved shock dampers that grip a higher rate spring to deliver optimum handling performance. This package also lowers the vehicle by 7mm front and rear. To equip your Solstice or Sky with this upgrade use the GM part number 17800834 and feel free to use it on any year Kappa vehicle.

GM Performance Parts didn’t forget about the FE3 owners when they planned these upgrades either. They’ve made the high spring rate, re-valved damper kit described above into its own separate kit that is available for purchase using the GM part number 17800029. Also available for any year Solstice or Sky, these shocks will allow you to maintain the stock height of your vehicle but give you a stiff and stable cornering ability.

Don’t forget, GM Performance Parts carries a 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty so you can rest assured in upgrading your Solstice or Sky with any GM Performance Parts component. GMTunerSource.com is always looking for the latest and greatest parts to help you make your GM vehicle look and drive the way YOU want. If you have any questions about any of the kits above, leave us a comment below. We love to help!

The Solstice off-road suspension isnt new. Doesnt give any hope as to what is or isnt coming for the Balt.

All that stuff has been around (well at least as a part #) since the beginning of 2006!

This stuff is catered to the "I want to keep my warranty" crowd and I am not saying it is a bad thing as I am one of those people. However, since 90% do suspension upgrades purely for "looks", a 7mm decrease in ride hight will steer 99% of those people away from this Kappa kit.
