Koni struts/shocks available February 2006

I e-mailed Koni asking when they are going to be making a strut/shock for the Cobalts and this is the e-mail they replyed with:

They are currently on the R&D list and sounds like they are getting
close to completion. We have a test vehicle scheduled to come in. We
should have something available by the end of January. You can check
back then or keep checking on our web site on www.koni-na.com under the
catalog link.

Thank you,

Stoney Hamilton

So looks like we should finally have a strut choice the beginning of 06.

kewl...I emailed H&R about springs and got a similar response. The springs they make are not for the SS. www.hrsprings.com

I was not trying to hijack this thread, just found it to be similar and didn't want to make a new one.

Eibach for now. There is another brand I haven't heard before.

here
Hello Frank,

Thank you for your email and interest in our Sport Springs for your Cobalt. Part number 50735 for the Chevy Cobalt are specifically not for the SS model. The spring kit for your SS is part number 50735-2 which is currently in the Research and Development (called "R&D") stage of it's life due to the differences in the SS suspension. This means the Sport Spring for your SS is not currently available. Once the R&D for this car is done, then the Sport Spring will be released.

The Coilovers are in R&D at this time as well.

Sincerely,

Jason Grahn

Which suspension is this for? It might make a difference, as stated above it makes a difference with springs not sure if same would be true for the Konis...

this would be an ideal investment for anyone w/ lowering springs. and should be a must have if your lowering.

do it right the first time so u dont have to worry about replacing strutmounts due to blown shocks. and a messy fenderwell. believe me i've blown many shocks and cleaning out the fenderwell is not fun. and if the shocks blow and get on your brakes horrible stopping.

good thing about koni, life time warranty baby.

i actually just talked to a technical advisor at eibach on the phone and he said for the chevy cobalt the eibach springs are designed to work with the oem shocks. he mentioned that it was not neccessary to change the shocks but advised that a allignment is necessary when lowering over 2 inches.

Just got off the phone with Koni, the Cobalt struts are still in the R&D stage and they could provide us with pricing yet. We will keep on them!

Did they say what model they were working on? Yellows? Reds?
