Koni yellows and xxx bar?

I ordered some rear koni yellows today and just had a few questions about them how much difference did you feel in the rear and what are u guys adjusting them to? from what ive heard theres no knob u just push down and twist?

also i have a hardcore bar right now done almost a year of street driving with it and two track days so far and am just wondering how big of a difference did you see going from hardcore to xxx and is it ok to drive on the streets as daily drive with it on? thanks guys!

The rear konis have to be removed to adjust but, once you get them where you want them you won't have to mess with them again. I've got min 1 1/2 off full soft. The difference between them and stock is very subtle you may not even notice it. As far as the bigger rear bar your gonna want to get more comfortable sliding the rear of the car around before stepping up. How you drive on track with ESC on blows my mind!

I'll be able to give you a review on the XXX bar next season. But, my setup will be VERY different by then.

I have them on the rear of my car. They are 1/4 turn from full stiff, and i dont have a rear sway bar. When atocrossing on concrete i wanted them stiffer cause there is sooo much grip there. I used the same setup on street tires and i loved it. car felt amazing.

Only issue i have is if you want to mess with them at the track you have to take them off, autocrossing thats about impossible so I took a few events to get them right were i wanted for street tires and race tires.

I think that's too stiff. At 1/4 from full stiff, it'll probably start to jack down on occasion. If you can get it to reliably jack down so that you're sitting on the bump stops, you might be able to turn that into your advantage. I forget, are you running DS or STX? If you're in STX, then I'd vote get a bigger rear bar. If it's DS, well, you do whatchya gotta do.

I run the Konis and XXX bar. It's a great combo. The car rotates so much more reliably than just the hardcore bar and Konis. Also, I'll have to disagree w/ Jboogie. The Konis make a huge difference, especially in quick transitions. With the stock TC shocks, the car wanted to undulate back and forth. Not a good feeling at 100mph.

I could see the XXX bar being a little much for autox, depending on the course and the rest of the setup, but for track, it is a no brainer for anyone that has some track experience under their belt.

Im in DS right now. I have been playing around with them. I didnt always have them that stiff, just ended up liking how the car felt at the one event so i kept it there. since its getting cooler here i can tell its to stiff so time to fix that.

Do you have Konis front and rear or just the rear?

Haven't autocrossed it yet but don't sweat the xxx on the street. i ran one for a sec on pirelli 215s that were down to the cords. Just keep good tires on it, it won't catch you off guard. I went from the ttr to the xxx and ur already used to the hardcore bar anyway. Do it

So the XXX bar helps the rear rotation better than the Hardcore does so I would get less understeer? I could feel the back rotating but was still pushing the front tires in the corners at Road America.

It's FWD. It's always going to understeer some if you overdrive, but the XXX reduces that even more. Like I said, you need some track/autox experience to really appreciate the difference between the hardcore and XXX bar, but if you're going to track events regularly, then XXX all the way.

I am aware of that. That was why I said "So the XXX bar helps the rear rotation better than the Hardcore does so I would get less understeer?" The main term being LESS. I didnt say it would eliminate it... Just wanted to clarify, not to be a smart a$$.

Road America is a High speed 4 mile 14 turn course. Most turns are at pretty quick speeds. This is were I spend most of my time. Track days with 3 to 4 hours of track time a day where I try to do the weekend (Sat, Sun)

I found the hardcore bar to me most neutral while hard on the throttle in fast turns. The car would understeer considerably in slower turns. So I joked about needing a bigger bar w/ John. Thankfully he decided to make the XXX. If you also dislike how the car handles in slower turns, I think you'll find the XXX bar makes it a lot more enjoyable.
