looking at dropping my car with eibach/h&r/ssc springs. Let me know opinions.

Im looking at dropping my cobalt with some springs. I am looking into performance with a clean drop that will smooth my ride out and not be so hard over bumps. Eventually i will update my shocks once tokico releases there kit for the cobalt. I have been reading online and post now for a few hours and im still undecided. I dont get how the ssc spring shows a 1.5" front and 1.4" rear. Doesnt the rear have to drop more to smooth it out. The eibach prokit which i was looking at shows 1.5" front and 1.8" rear. So how come the ssc isnt like that. The h&r sport spring shows 1.5" front and 1.4" rear. I know i will be going for a performance ride and im going to be putting some nice torque to my wheel with the ss injectors(i have), injen cold air intake, soon header, and custom exhaust. I will eventually get a tune once everything goes in so i want my suspension be good and not for looks. Im either thinking eibach or the h&r. I dont want to sit low, i just want to even out my wheel gap. Here is a picture of my car now with 17" and +45 offset with 215/50/17 tires.

Let me know your opinions.

Give me my opinions so i can place my order.

Josh

yeah after reading about eibach now, i really dont want to go with the prokit unless it will even out my gaps pretty good but people say it doesnt drop it much. I know the sportline is just too much drop for me.

Please help me decide people?

HOW DO THE SSC SPRINGS HANDLE?

AKAIK the SSC springs have pretty much the same drop as the Sportlines. Oh and if you don't like the Sportline drop, then get the Prokit, sounds like your best option.

I prefer the Eibach Sportlines simply b/c its the biggest drop (I felt my car looked more like a monster truck than a sporty coupe when I first purchased it, lol) and it retains the factory ride quality, if not an even more plush ride. I have the Sportlines + 225/35/19 wheels/tires and I have no rubbing issues at all btw.

However, if you want a smaller drop, my next choice would be Progress.

Also, why wait for Tokico's when the Koni adjustables are already available for our car. Check out gravanatuning.com for a complete set of 4 for a slightly reduced price. Koni's ftw!

Oh, and we get plenty of snow in the winter here in VA, but I don't sweat it. I just plowed on through with the Sportlines on. Cobalt.......snow plow equipped diesel truck......pfff.....same thing. My car is the defenition of a daily driver with 24K since purchase in October '06, been through snow, rainstorms, hail (not damaging hail thankfully), I drive it into DC for work when I can't ride in the company vehicle, and I drive it down a 3 mile dirt road every day. Still going strong as ever!

SSC all the way, for the price. they ARE the best spring on the market. evened my car out perfectly. Those specs are wrong as my rear is what lowered the most. Not to low and car has room to travel still on hard bumps. rides and handles great. ill post a pic.

yeah everyone i decided on the eibach prokit and i will prolly go with the konis. What sucks about the konis is you have to cut your stock stuff. I wish the other companies would hurry up and release some more struts but i dont see it coming til 2008.

prokit barely drops it. GL 90% of people who buy it sell it for ssc's or sports
