Looking for some spring /shock/strut input

Okay. So i want to drop Phoenix. She sits to high on those factory springs. Most likely going with the Eibachs.

Is there an Eibach kit that comes with everything? New shocks/struts/springs?

Otherwise, looking for some shock/strut ideas.

Don;t reply telling me to put $2,000 coilovers on it. This is a daily driver street and highway cruiser. It will never see a race track. So unless its a set of good, and affordable coilovers, Im not really interested.

But since I'm used to building race car suspensions and not street car ones, I'd like some advice / suggestions on parts from the guys that know.

Check Eibachs site, think you can buy the package together. Although i looked into abit, the Sway bar isnt released and i dont think the Pro Dampers (struts) are for the Cobalts...could be wrong tho. Most poeple go with the Eibach Sportline Springs and Koni Yellow Struts

Eibach doesnt make a kit.

Sportlines and SS/SC shocks and struts. Youll be good to go.

For a couple of months maybe. My struts are toast after one summer on lowering springs.

There are lots of people who run Sportlines and SS struts shocks with no issues.

SS struts are perfectly capable of handling sportlines if you dont mercilessly pound on your car.

My car continues to move up and down after I hit a bump. That's a sure sign that their usefulness has pretty much expired.

Agreed, i wasnt debating that yours were bad, just stating that SS struts and Sportlines do in fact get along just fine for many people, espcially if you dont have rough roads or drive your car in a way that makes it bottom out regularly.

Just get Coilovers and save your self any hassles. If you want springs...

H&R, Progress, Eibach with Koni Shocks will be the best you can get for springs!

But spend the money get Coilovers you won't be dissapointed!

I have a hard time dropping $1400 on a suspension kit. As in, It wont happen becasue I don't have that kind of money. And Its not a race car. I want to lower it for a littel better response and for a better look. The car just looks to high.

well, to be honest, sportlines will work fine with the SS struts for a while. In the end, they will eventually go bad. I doubt the LT shocks and struts would last nearly as long. By the time you upgrade shocks and struts + springs, you may as well buy coilovers. most kits are $1100 or less.

A set of Koni's with sportlines would be your best bet, unless you want to try and get ahold of some SS/TC struts and throw some sportlines on.

great minds think alike etc. Excellent suggestion, I am going to TC struts, and knuckles/rack, and even exhaust...

by the way thread jack, 06 'balt uses same abs toothcounts as 05, none compatible for solstice (07 s/c = 07 soltice tooth count) and 08 09 t/c = current 08/09 soltice etc

just another choice, but beware that they might very well be worse than a fe5 setup.

so, what exactly does that mean? it's still possible right? just maybe a bit more costly, because if that's the case, i can handle that. I don't see why to have to change this stuff, makes life frustrating.

thread jack why? to talk to LS1Fbody..... I did reply to yuour post but it got lost; that KYB deal you found is excellent , little money for a lot of product, but as you say probably not as good as GM FE5 stuff, and the TC FE5 is different and better than the SC FE5 parts; somewhere along the way maybe, FE3 to FE5 the strut shaft diameter was increased.....
