I have a 2007 4dr Cobalt and am having some suspension issues. I was hoping to find a thread on the same issue, but I do not know what to call it aside from a loud clunking noise. I looked under the car an under the hood and I think I have found at least part of the issue.

What is this thing and am I on the right track?

That is a motor mount aka transmission mount.
