Looks like I might have a bad shock. The right rear is clunking pretty bad over bumps even on full stiff so I sent all my info and pics of the install to stance. They said to take out the bumpstops in the rear but I dont like that. These springs are way too short for me to pull them off and feel comfortable. Hope to hear something back from Scott or Jamie tomorrow.

Is that miata the 1.6 or 1.8? I had a 93 I bought to autocross with but had to get rid of it because I was having surgery and couldn't drive it for 8 weeks and we were moving during that time. I want another one so bad, it's like driving a go cart. Ohh and I might not have a blown shock, I messed with it a little last night and I dropped the rear again. I noticed when the springs are in there they sit on an angle so I twisted them a little. Is there a certain way they have to sit in there? It felt a little better today but still clunked over some bumps.

dug up a picture of my miata..... miss you so much

If you have an aftermarket exhaust its most likely hitting the rear beam over bumps which will cause a clanking noise. Look under the car and see how much clearance there is from the lower beam to the exhaust.

Ok so after driving around for a couple days and playing with the settings I have to say that i'm not that impressed with the rear setup of these Stance springs. They are way too soft and can't handle bumps like the front can.

i think you can get a dif. spring rate. you just need to call up stance and order them. to be honest, i dont even know the spring rate that comes with the gr's anyways.lol

I posted a reply but I guess it didn't save... They can get different rate springs but I dont want to pay another couple hundred dollars when I just spent $1300 on what was supposed to be one of the better set ups. Ohh and it will take 6-8 weeks to get them. Just went to baltimore and back to pick up my wheels and the fronts are great. The rear tires felt like they came off the ground twice because the rear springs just bottomed and bounced which is not cool at all. Time to call stance back and see if they figured out anything.

i agree with you on this. the rear seems real bouncy when i hit a bump. and it seems like it doesnt help if i adjust the shock stiffness. i am still happy with them though.

and i told you that they were WAY to soft lol. glad you listened. thats the problem with ALL OF THE COILOVERS for the cobalt.spring rates are too soft. megan has 6k 6k but the same design spring they use in the rear was used up front and its too short....so in other words junk too.

I love the fronts and I am working with Stance and THMotorsports to get new rear springs. I am thinking about going with a 7k but might go stiffer if it's needed.

They both told me I can order new springs with a stiffer spring rate. Stance claims after lots of research they think this is perfect for the car....maybe if it just sits yeah. I am going to call TH again monday and see if I can get a different spring altogether. Something that isn't the size of a coke can. Ohh and I noticed today that the metal holding the bump stop in is getting dented from hitting the perch so you might want to check yours out too. I'm sure once you look underthe car you will see what i'm talking about.
