Question Lowering Question

Ok i have a 2007 SS with a 2.4 NA engine!

I doubt the engine has anything to do with the suspension. (lemme kno if im wrong)

Anyway I want to lower my car but i dont want to slam it. i still want to be able to drive around not being paranoid about hitting a pothole and looseing any body parts or scraping my oilpan.

Now I think a 2"-21/2" drop all around is good. but if i do put lowering springs (NotCoilovers) on my car will i need any other parts (Struts, swaybars, etc.) to compensate with the Springs??? What Is a good Brand? post links.

ya idk if id go that low on springs..coilovers would be fine cuz u can adjust them at will but springs id prolly stick to a 2" at the lowest if u want care free driving but it all depends on the roads around you to

If you want a 2in drop get the D2 springs. They are 2in all around and keep the nice rake while lowering it a nice amount. I would either get those or H&R Sport springs. Probably wouldnt need anything new right now. Possibly endlinks but I think the 2.4 have shorter than LS anyway so you may be fine.

Nah, more like 2.5 on a base. It keeps it nice and low, perfect drop for this car. With 18in wheels you can have no wheel gap. D2 is a bit higher and if your worried get those. However ride height has less to do with getting stuck than knowing how to drive and having a good set of winter tires. Ofcourse being lower will make you scrape more so you cant take every approach at 35 mph. If you drive smart H&R will be perfectly fine and you still wont have to be paranoid about wrecking your car.

jus replace the struts anyways while your under the car..i did springs on my old car and ill never go that route again..but IMO as long as your changing springs spend a little extra time and money and put new struts in and call it a day

It's the same concept regardless of engine size. Lowering will wear out shocks/struts quicker than stock ride height would. I run on Eibach Sportlines and I have no trouble with deep potholes or angling driveways properly. I've had them on for roughly 15k miles and the shocks/struts are fine so far. Something to note is that whenever you lower a car (the cheap way we all do it) is that the ride quality will suffer. That means you'll feel pot holes, bumps, etc more than you normally would.
