My ss/sc is now 5 years old 54,000 miles. Time for new suspension parts?

My car just turned 5 this month (and finally paid it off )

I have p225/45/18 tires on it for about 8,000 miles and just today the back passenger tire has started rubbing really bad. On the highway on bumps it made loud noises and it has been shredding the outside of the tire right above the writing on the sidewalls because i guess the tire has been hitting the edge of the wheel well.

a non-scientific test shows that the height from the tire to the top of the wheel well is lower on the back passenger side than the back driver side. I bent my fingers and stuck them in the passenger side and i couldn't fit them in while they fit fine in the driver side. If you want me to go out with a ruler and measure I can if that helps.

also it just doesn't feel as good on bumps as it used to.

All this time i have done nothing in suspension work. I had a brake job in my mid 20,000 miles, and Only a stage 2 kit and injen intake.

My question is 5 years and 54,000 miles about the right time to get my suspension replaced. What parts usually need to be replaced at this time and how much should I expect to be paying?

usually the only thing around that time that should be going is your rear shocks and possibly struts up front. Its probably too early for the bushings to be worn out. just my opinion.

This is why 225/45/18's are a bad idea. Tire rack recommends that size as a replacement for the SS/SC. Someone should tell them that quite a few people have had rubbing issues with that size. If you are rubbing with stock springs, I would say one of your rear springs may be broken or at least a shock. Crateenginedepot.com has the SS/TC strut and shock with Pedders spring combo on for $595 right now. I would get that package. I just bought the TC struts and shocks from them to go with my Progress springs. It was a good upgrade.
