Hey guys im looking into some new brakes. Ive found Powerstop K5533 Z23 evolution sport brake kit. All 4 rotors and all 8 pads for $660 CAD they seem pretty good but im looking for some other recommendations before i buy, thanks in advance!

Stock pads and stock rotors are the best for the car. You can get some slotted rotors for looks if you wish, but anything except the stock pads are a downgrade.

 

Slotted rotors have function, they aid in keeping brake dust from accumulating on the pads and give the pads more bite. Are stock pads really that good? Depending on the application I would think there would have to be pads more oriented towards performance than stock because stock is always a compromise between performance and things like noise, high dust, or other mannerisms that would make them less ideal for daily driving.

 

This topic has been hammered time and time again. There are plenty of threads out there that go into great detail as to why stock pads and rotors are the best for brembos.

 

I'm just asking because I'm curious but by "best" you mean for daily driving correct? Or are they also best for track use?
