Pedders are over rated it could be a spring issue

My rears were 50 lbs off from one side
To the other, compression tested by John powell

I don't see how that could possible happen if *both* press fit bolts are in the right holes.

That's weird for sure. I do have a slight amount of negative camber in the front with the Pedders (HHR SS here also), but nothing crazy. That gap difference throws me for a loop... I'll check mine to see if there are any differences in mine just to see if I can be any help to you.

EDIT: here's a pic of mine; you can see how little neg. camber there is up front. AFAIK that's normal with a Pedders drop, any more than that there may be a suspension issue???

Am I the only one wondering why your HHR has 2 passenger side struts?

AC Delco numbers for left and right are:
Drivers side: 560-581 (RockAuto #19179741)
Passenger side: 506-667 (RockAuto #19179738)

RockAuto.com has them for $105/ea.

Curious that the passenger side one has an issue...perhaps it's that one that is incorrect.

the first picture you posted shows the lower spring coil is not seated in the coil end recess in the strut.

that will make everything wrong.

How is this a issue with the spring? No matter how much you change the spring the perch should never change in height. It is totally uneffected. The spring will only effect things above it. I'm looking at this on my phone but it looks like there is a spot on the bottom of the perch where the paint looks to be rubbed off like this has been an on going issue. The space looks so tight that heat expansion in the tires or over airing the tires would cause it to rub. Again I am looking at this on my phone so I may see something different on the pc. Get the alignment checked if the camber is as bad as you say it is. That would make up the difference. Something could have been thrown out of wack when you loosened everything up. As far as the struts being a different part number I have no clue on the hhr.

in the picture of the struts side by side, people say its 2 passenger side parts............ i am confirming its same parts one with stock spring one with aftermarket one............
people were claiming that was my issue but its not the issue at hand

I took time to put the stock strut/spring on and clearance is fine, so its clearly the other strut..........which I do not get to be honest unless the strut is from a Cobalt maybe ?

So you swapped struts and springs? If that's the case put the new spring on the stock strut. Make sure the struts with the pedders are the same as the stockers. The one with the problem could be bent.

disregard the top spring hat thats for a Redline.Look at the bottom where the lower coil end "disappears" into the strut socket. Your spring end is visible in the photo you posted. Not seated. Spring is out of place as a result

Yes it would as you drive down the road the tires diameter expands due to centrifigul force and heat.
