Pedders?
Also if you plan to sell your BC please PM me. I would be interested.
Damn you scared me lol!!! I was almost starting to hate Pedders for such a price ahahaha. Well, they are not that cheap, 1300 is 1300!! Most of the Cobalt owners here are in their early 20s, most of them go to College and they work part-time, maybe 1300 is what they make for the whole month
haha my bad and 1300 isnt cheap but its not crazy expensive i mean think about it just like wheels youll prob only buy them once right? mine as well buy a good set and yea im 26 how old are you lol if your not old you obviously make a good living doing whatever you do lol

Pedders website is weird....but the coilovers are sold in a set. We have sold 6 sets to date and everyone is extremely happy with them. Alot more people go with pedders springs and tc shocks though as we have sold over 100 sets of those. For the best price possible contact me.
I was disappointed to hear Pedder's reply to my inquiry about their coilovers. I wouldn't even look twice at them.
Every shock worth a crap that I've seen a shock dyno for is digressive. Maybe progressive at the extreme to prevent bottoming out, but that's super trick.
The Pedders springs are the best option in a sea of bad choices. There just aren't too many companies making serious suspension products for the Cobalt.
The dyno sheets are proprietary. The valving is linear and directly proporsional to velocity.

It's quite likely that KW has the best off the shelf valving of all the Cobalt options. You also get full droop, but they don't provide a top hat that is compatible with linear springs, so you're stuck with whatever proprietary spring rates they came up with, and I'm not sure what the spring rates are. They are rust proof for real though. Honest to god stainless steel.
So the issue I have is that there is probably very little, if any, advantage to KW V2 over Koni + Pedders. I'll bet money that they are very damn similar. So what would I get? I guess the KW V2. They should last a long time, if you don't do something stupid.
Decent suspension doesn't have to be astronomically expensive, but Cobalt owners are unwilling to way for pay for, or be attentive to, better stuff. Evos, STI, BMW, Honda, etc all have great damper/spring or coilover options under 2k. When I get tired of my Koni/Pedder setup, I may contact GT Worx about getting a custom KW setup. Dunno if they'll bite. I tried Fortune Auto to see if they would make Cobalt coilovers, and they said no.
edit: According to a picture from Qwik, looks like the KW should take a linear spring easily in the front. I had the wrong pictures for Cobalt KW. Unsure if the top of the rear spring on the KW setup is flat or stock cut.

I lump Stance, HSD, Pedders, Megan, BC Racing, and D2 all into the same bucket. Primitive valving, though some of them offer custom options if you're willing to take a gamble. Stance and BC will let you pick custom spring rates, but I'm pretty sure both are progressive or linearly valved on the low damping side. Severely limited suspension travel too. All of these will rust.

It seems that the best budget set-ups from the Honda/Acura, BMW, Miata, and Mini seem to be Ground Control with Koni shocks. I am angered that Ground Control made coilovers for the car but stopped. I think it would prove to be a great lower cost set-up for our cars too. Maybe we can get them back on board.
Scott Herbert is running a GC/Koni setup. I had a conversation with him recently about it. It could probably still be pieced together by the folks at GC, but there would be a lot of experimenting still w/ springs, which kinda sucks unless you have access to a bunch of good linear springs from Hyperco or Eibach. Swift if you're really deep in the pockets.
As far as the pricing, Pedders has them listed in a confusing fashion. They sell the springs separately and it ends up being in the $300-$400 range for those.
The coilovers should be in the low-to-mid $1000s for the complete set. At least that's the range I bought my Pedders for. They may have copied/pasted part of the description and got that in there.
As far as lowering, this is what they came with out of the box. You can lower them much lower, but most people who buy Pedders are going for handling over drop. I'd hate to go much lower than stock height for any of the DD I do. I'd be dragging exhaust, front lip, back lip, side skirts, etc. all the time.
What it looks like straight out of the box, with no adjustment made:

how are u liking the pedders coilovers? im thinking about snagging me a set very soon, like this week. im just weighing my options as to which coilovers to get. i want performance and long lasting. drop is a nice bonus too, how low do the pedders go?
