Rear sway bar comparison
Has anyone here used both the TTR 1 inch and the OTTP hardcore 1.25" rear bars? Ive had the TTR on for a while now and Im very pleased but I cant stop wondering about that hardcore bar. Gotta do everything I can to keep up with the WRXs and Gen coupes for autocross. Any input is valuable

I had the progress rear sway bar which is 22mm and same design as the TTR 1" (25.4mm) it was an upgrade over stock not having one. Its a noticeable difference from not having one specially when taking turns but overall helps stiffen up the rear end of the car.
Since im back in Ontario now, I have Powell Motorsports within a half hour drive from my house, I got the Powell Hardcore 1.25" bar last year. It attaches slighty different and shaped differently.
I know my progress was a solid bar (im not sure about the ttr 1" bar) but the powell hardcore bar is a hollow bar system (weighs alot less)
Upgrading from the progress rear bar to powells hardcore bar was another night and day difference.
Im not getting anything different unless John comes up with something different again.
So in my opinion Powell Hardcore Rear Sway Bar 1.25" is the way to go

i do alot of road racing and have issues with understeer. I was considering the hardcore bar but dont want snap oversteer and hit the wall. Autocross you hit cones and benefit from the bar with tighter turns, roadracing i hit the wall and dont want the ass end to come around. I was thinking about the street bar.

I have a hardcore bar coming from OTTP. I autox and am really looking forward to having some increased roll stiffness in the rear of the car. I don't expect to see any signs of snap oversteer, even with very high rear roll stiffness you really don't see this trait in a FF platform.

I knew the hardcore bar had the best rep, and my TTR is stiffer than the street bar so its in second place and as I said Ive been nothing but impressed with it. Ill probably throw on the hardcore before the second national event comes through Blytheville here in AR and just see the difference for myself.
And the TTR must be a solid bar because its actually quite heavy

The car doesn't oversteer w/ the hardcore bar. It understeers less, and is closer to neutral. I drive it in the pouring rain on track with Konis, Pedders, hardcore bar, Powell bushings, and 1/32" toe out. The car doesn't oversteer. I could only wish that it was more neutral.
Anyone that complains about this car oversteering needs to learn how to use the gas pedal.

I always heard about the hardcore bar and even had questions myself about running it on the street. It's been in for maybe a month now and I want more rear bar. If you have any kind of track/autox experience and know how to handle a FWD car at the limit. The car is now ALMOST neutral. I used to run my rear konis full stiff (DS setup) and about 10psi more rear tire pressure and the hardcore bar is less likely to oversteer than that setup, just much smoother when it lets loose. BRING ON THE XXX BAR!

i never said i had oversteer i was saying i have bad understeer and was wanting to get a bar but was thinking the hardcore may be too much. You guys have confirmed it isnt. And ive won two A main races in this car im definately not afraid of the gas pedal. The other balts in my area wont even run because theyre worried about wrecking. SS/TC struts and pedders + hardcore bar = more wins this season
