Reconnect Front end link?

I just replaced my driver's side axle and everything went smoothly until I saw the lower connection for the Stab. bar had popped out. How does it go back in? Does it just pop back in with a C-clamp?

The bolt with the round ball stayed put. The part that pops onto the bolt is what came off.

It had to be previously worn. They certainly don't come apart easily and it's a waste of time to try to put it back together. Buy a new one.

Heh well I will have to do that then, but in the mean time I used vice grips to wedge it back in. I remember what a PITA it was removing the top bolt of the end link when I put the Sportlines in. I guess I'm in for another headache. Should I replace both sides if the passenger side is still OK?

Yes!

...unless you plan on buying GM ones again, which I wouldn't do.

Your other option, til you can get replacements, is to simply remove one of the endlinks. This will keep that ball joint from suddenly popping out, and having the sway bar whack the remaining ball joint. I prefer safely disabled over waiting for it to break again, but it's up to you.

I've got powergrids, and they're nice, but honestly, unless you're considerably dropped, they aren't worth the price. Just get Moogs, or FE5.

Moogs are available at Napa or Carquest to my knowledge. Have them on my car thanks to advice given from maven to run them.

How much did those run you Cordia?

Just checked Summit Racing, there's a note on them that says "Does not fit FE5 suspension" hmm...

Think they were like 60 ish for both sides. They are far stronger than stock and have a grease fitting on them as well. Plus theres more meat on them to get a wrench onto for when you need to remove them. So definitely recommend them. Unless you have the money and the desire to get the powergrids.

I saw those yesterday and those particular ones don't look like the ones on our cars.

I saw that too but the picture is only a representation of the product and may not be the particular picture for your vehicle. Or thats what it said anyways.

I suggest just getting the Moog ones designed for the FE5. They have a larger hex portion (so they don't strip like the stockers when you try to take them off...) and are nice and stiff for better handling

I bought mine at O'Reilly's. I think Autozone sells them too. There are 2 lengths, get the ones that are shorter (they're the FE5 ones).

Unless you are REALLY low, there's no need for adjustable endlinks. Those are the ones that I'm referring to. They went on super easy, but be prepared to take a torch to the stockers to get them heated up so you can blast them off with an impact wrench...

I've already taken the top nuts off once when I did my springs last month so they should be fine. The lowers cant be that much harder....but yes impact = win
