might be offtopic a lil, so sorry for jacking the thread, does anyone have wheel spacers to adapt our 5x110 lug pattern to 5x100 like the ones offered by h&r springs? I'm just wondering if anyone knows brands, and size I'd need bc I have a 18x8 set of 5x100's that I've been trying to sell but couldnt so I'm thinking of trying to make them work they are 40mm offset similar to the SS/SC if that helps. Also, what's a pretty common price for a set?

Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but I just got fucked by the Motegi SP-5 as well.

2005 Ion Redline, 17x7 +42mm offset.

Bought Motegi SP-5, 17x7, +40 offset.

Tire Rack and every other source says they fit.

They don't.

The spokes hit the very bottom edge of the caliper along its entire length. At a +40 offset, they need a MINIMUM 4mm spacer to clear. And I mean JUST clear, barely a millimeter gap.

Problem is, our studs are too short. 4mm of spacer leaves you with barely 2 turns to finger tight, less than 3 to 85 lbs torque. Not safe.

Sounds like the person who posted this originally had the same issue, and from reading this I bet they drilled the stud holes down to get more threads available. Not unsafe IF there was enough material there after drilling to support everything. Based on what I'm looking at, a few mm's could go safely if it was done right. Really not a lot of difference between drilling from the front to free up thread and shaving the back surface (like the manufacturer does) to change offset. Again; if done right, shouldn't be bad.

That said - nobody makes a 4mm spacer that I can find. 3mm isn't quite enough - it clears, but there's literally a hair width clearance at that point. 5mm is too thick for SCCA stock class when I've already subtracted 2mm from stock offset by buying a +40 instead of +42. I need a 4 or 4.25 mm spacer, lol.

ANyone know where to get extended studs? Looking for those is what found this thread...
