sportline help!!!!
well guys here is my problem yesterday me and a buddy installed my sportlines on my 06 ls and there was no noises but today i had to run out and now i have a loud ticking noise in the rear i dont know what it could be from....i havnt got my alignment yett because its sunday and none of the tire places are open.has anyone herd of this before and i dont think its my new tires because i did some research on here and it seems like there is alot of ppl running 225/40/18...
Is it a ticking noise or more of a chirp. I lowered a friends ION quad coupe and the next he came back with a chirp noise over bumps and while driving turns out the noise was coming from the rear shocks.
Think about it.. It has to be something rotating.. If it gets louder as it speeds up.. The struts and springs don't rotate.. lol
Now, if it's a SQUEAK, yes, my factory rear struts/springs squeak ALOT.. I'll be curious to see if it stops after I install my Sportlines next week.. If not, then it's the struts..

Well, if you think about it, he's lowering an LS with sportlines. Drops 2.0 in the front and 2.5 in the rear. That big of a drop will noticeably affect the camber and will put rotating parts at an angle they shouldn't be at, which will be fixed with an alignment. The noise wasn't there before he did this and it changes speed as he does, so it is something that is rotating.

tru tru but what i dont understand is that it wasnt there the day we installed them and i did a bit of driving around that day....it was the next morning when it started
well boys it was a stupid thing and its pretty much what i thought it was ......loose wheel because yesterday i was cleaning the rims and i hit 2 of the nuts and they were loose and i tightened them but it wasn't tight enough for it to stop the clunking but now im all good to go and she handels like she's on rails!!! and here is a pic of the car sittin all pretty

haha I drove back from Cleveland to Pittsburgh a few months ago on the highway for two hours with 3 lugnuts on each wheel.. lol. And I was supposed to have 5! I grabbed the wrong bag of lugnuts........ hahaha
that's cool, you sound like a really smart guy. I was just telling him that if it started when he lowered it and it was constant with his speed, it has to do with rotating parts. It didn't make sense to me because the back is solid, but that was the only thing I could think of. My bad for trying to help the guy with inputs compared to "has nothing to do with the alignment" without giving any further information as to why. But good thing you're here, Mr. wheel aligner extremely hard job guy.
i wasnt, im glad you found it before it broke a stud or worse fell off. but enjoy the sportlines they rock thats what i had before the coilovers. if you pair them up with the konis, good god does the car handle.
