sportlines on ls- RR sets higher than LR

I just installed sportlines on the rear of my 07 ls and on the left rear i can barely stick two fingers in and on the right rear i can stick them in and have room to move a little. do they just need to be broke in and settle? id like to figure this out before i start on the fronts

ok now im really at a loss... i can jack up the car from the middle of the axle and the wheels set dead even. this is suggesting uneven wheel weights but i dont see how thats possible. we have a set of scales we use on our race car, im about to set it on and see if theres any difference if nobody else has an explination lol

make sure the surface you have your car set on is completely flat.

I'm thinking this is a defect in the cobalt its' self. I thought it was just me so I took a ruler to it and the right rear is about a quarter of an inch higher off the ground than the left rear. I should have cheaked before I put on the sportlines.

I wonder if switching around the springs would do anything? Maybe the car is heavier on the one side so one spring has a higher load capacity. Im probably wrong but i got nothing else so far haha.

That's actually what I'm doing right now lol. I'll let yall know... It's a relief to know it's not just me. It was 3/4 inch differance then 5 min of driving reduced it to 1/2 inch. Maybe they need to fully settle??

Yeah you need to go for a rip to get the suspension settled after you have your car jacked up. THe springs will also settle over the next little while.

Is it still sagging on the same side or is it now sagging on the other side?

Haha wow. I put sportlines on mine and I noticed my rear passenger side dropped about a 1/2" less as well. I knew I had seated them properly (not much to **** up on the rear anyways), so I figured it just needed to settle to even out. Haven't checked since the day I put them on, but I will tomorrow to see if it evened out. It's been about 2wks now.

when i had sportlines the passenger side was higher than the driver side in the rear. now i installed coilovers and i have the same exact problem.

and they are both bottomed out all the way so there is no room for adjustment error.

make sure that you arent sitting on the bump stops, you might have to cut them down.
make sure they set in the pocket right
wait for them to settle

I had numerous problems with my ranger when i had it doing the same thing in the front were it was higher on the other side. I spent $1400 to lower it the correct way with control arms and springs, struts. i ended up having to cut the springs to make it level in the end. It was just the way the ranger was designed from ford, cause it was heavier on one side.

Im hoping this problem doesnt move on over to the cobalt because it was really frustrating before for me. let us know if it evens out, thanks!

when i switched them around in the rear the leftrear was still lower... Im starting to wonder if on a stock springed car if they set lower in the leftrear also. with all that distance between your tire and body you never really think about it but if it does the same thing no matter what side the springs are on, the only thing it could be is the car. i seated them right, i know i did. i marked where the end of the coil set with the stock springs and seated the new ones into the same spot

I am having the same problem with mine, I took the RR spring back out and placed it exactly like the LR spring. Still the same problem...it's sitting about 1/2" higher on the RR and it's annoying the hell out of me. Even when I drive it feels like the LF corner is leaning down which in reality it is since the spring is sitting higher on the RR. I don't know what else to do...I know in the directions it said to retorque the rear end pivot points...did anyone do this? And this might be a dumb question, but the rubber sleeve that is wrapped around the coils on all 4 springs...are they supposed to stay on or be removed?

Leave the rubber sleeve on the Sportlines.....thats there so they dont make horrible noises when they coilbind.(which is just what they do.)

do you know why RR would be sitting higher? I called eibach today and they told while my car is on the ground to loosen the bushings connected to the subframe and push the rear end up and down and see if that will seat the RR into the same place as the LR. It just doesn't make sense why only one side would do it.

wow, i thought i was alone in this problem. haha. evidentally not!

I'd love to know why it's like this. It's definitely not that they just need to settle because I've had mine on since the end of April/beginning of May and it still sits lower on the left rear. Mine isn't bad enough that it's noticable, so I don't really have a problem with it and I just let it go. The only time i really notice is when I'm cleaning the wheel wells and such.

I can def. tell the RR is higher...all you have to do is look at my car from the back and you can tell without a second thought that it's sitting crooked.
