Springs-only upgrade

I just recieved the progress springs I ordered today and am about to put them on.
My question is, with the suspention completely stock other than the springs, how much of a handling improvement should I see?

Also, how badly will it hurt the tires to drive a couple hundred miles before the alignment?

its actually recomended to drive a couple days to let them settle.you should notice a pretty good gain as your center of gravity will be lower and there stiffer

Normally you will notice a decent improvement in handling, but this also depends on the car. I know on my last car (civic) it was night and day when I put on Eibachs. For an SS some people say springs are like heaven, others say some just cause a harsher ride (also depends on springs but I've heard good things about progress, which is what I'm going to purchase). IMO you should be able to feel a difference.

As far as the alignment goes, this depends on how badly off it is aligned after the springs were installed. Some people's alignment is perfect even after installing springs, so you have no worry. Others only slightly off. For a few hundred miles though (considering your alignment most likely isn't off by that much) you should be safe.

Haha, although thats true, i got them on today, and its a beautiful thing.
The body roll I was getting around corners and on hard swerves is greatly decreased and the car just feels more stable all around.
Ride is slightly more harsh but nothing even close to unbearable.
