My buddy Milt owns the SC with the black wheels. He might have put some pics up over there.

I think its ok for show cars but thats about it. It doesnt have any advantage like it does for a rwd. Unless of course you put the bigger tires in the front

i was actually going to put the larger (19x10 or something) in the front. it doesnt look right, ive tried it. but as far as staggered wheels go. i REALLY like the look. just no stretched tires. as far as stretching goes, this would be the most.

man I’m jealous of where you guys live that you can have your cars so low. These cars wouldn’t last a week in the NYC Metro area. we have pot holes you can hide in....

this thread got out of hand quick but seems to get back on track

The original poster started this thread just to see if the Delta guys can get low like the VW guys. Only got nasty when we got nasty but all is better now so lets move on.

To me when dropping a car its a fine line between looking awesome or looking retarded. You need to find that happy medium for the car and its lines. The best example I can think of is chicks and fake *****. Some chicks just get the biggest implants they can find and it looks horrible, while others get implants that work for their size and height. As in some owners slam the car to the wheels are 4 inches in the well and the frame is on the ground, other drop to reduce wheel gap and increase performance

But in the end its your car or your **** so do as you like.

fyi, the cobalt suspension doesn't allow it it to go much lower than what i posted without bagging it. I have maybe 1/2 an inch from where the car is at now until i have the coilovers bottomed out. The picture i posted probably has an inch and a quarter to go down.

at least in the rear, the front probably has an inch, to an inch and a half, but then i could barely drive it, and the guys on this site know what i am doing with my suspension, so lower would be impractical.

.
I think its more just practicing/learning how to drive in certain areas cuz trust me when I say the roads out here are far from perfect... Swerving out of the way of potholes and hitting every driveway at an angle has just become part of my daily drive

Oh and you cant forget having to patch up the occasional exhaust leak LOL

what?

on the front we have macphereson struts, on the rear we have a twisting beam axle (TWB) with spings and outboard mounted shocks.

you can only drop so far.

you would need to post a picture of what you're talking about, and pleas, host it here, or anywhere that's not photobucket.

to go lower cut the bumpstops in half or more depending on the drop, and remove the helper spring. has anyone done that?

The back will not be able to go lower without repositioning the rear shock mounts. I believe shocks bottom out before springs will.

looks pretty similar, but no, no helper springs.
My fronts,

the rears are pretty much just springs and a silver shock.

Any car can have helper springs if it's designed in by the coil over manufacture.

no, you could take the spring out and ride on the bumpstops and the shock would still have a little bit of travel, its in the design. But it's true, you just can't go any lower.
