stearing column

ok i know there is a suspension clunk in our cars. I think i have narrowed it down to the stearing column. It seams to get worse with the passing months, almost driving me nuts. I really dread taking it to my shitty dealership. I have searched the posts and found no reason to it, but has anybody experienced the same thing and what was the fix for it??

thanks

I believe it is a steering knuckle and there is a TSB for it. Take it back to the dealer, they will fix it under warranty.

He is correct. It is a well known TSB. You will have no problems.

I believe the suspension "clunk" is the intermediate shaft.... but yeah, there is a TSB.

There are two thunks. There is a suspension one and a steering one. If you're hearing one from the steering column, as others have said, it's a VERY common TSB and they should fix it no problem.

The intermediate shaft has nothing to do with being lowered, so you should be good to go.

Aren't we all, Mike? Aren't we all..........

Personally my dealer can't hear it. Least that's their excuse for not fixing it. Most likely culprit is bad connectors on the sway bar links. That seems to be everyone else's trouble.

It sounds like it's internal......at first they thought it was the buttons on the steering wheel but I showed them that it wasn't.

The steering didn't feel any different or flawed in any way, but that rattle was annoying. They couldn't figure out exactly what it was, so they just replaced.

that sucks....I'm sure you'll be fine though as long as parts don't start falling off I would get it checked though because god forbid if that does start to happen

yeah i do notice the sound slightly if u take the steering wheel while in park and the car running. You pull on one side and let go and you see the steering wheel shake from side to side and you can hear the clunk clunk slightly. so i think its internal..
