I'm starting the day out with a car issue. Lol. I have a 06 LT.

Issue:
While driving, if I quickly turn the wheel to the left it won't return to center. (Makes a smalll attempt, then stops). I also notice when braking harder then normal the car pulls to the left.

If I quick turn the wheel to the right, it jumps back to center normally.

I had my alignment checked and everything seems ok. I don't think it is a caliper issue since the left turn doesn't return to center.

Any ideas?

 

my buddys base model seems to be having the same issue. i don't know what it is

 

Anyone know if alignment specs are different between FE1 and FE5? I do have the FE5v2 struts and shocks, and v1 sway bar and links.

I got no advice, but the same thing's happened to mine since I put wider tires on, even after an alignment

 

top bearing in the mount may be foo barred. These cars are getting to the age where it can become an issue, its a white plastic housing with little ball bearings in it, and when it binds, it sticks .

 

any way to maybe grease the bearings or anything then john? mine does the same even after alignment, it doesn't do it much but it's noticeable at times

oh and i'm anxiously waiting for my front tow hook that was sent out on 12/1

 

if you take a little time, and clean the bearing and then work some grease in the split between the upper and lower plastic halves you may be able to do that. The bearing alone is about 42 dollars, pita price for what it is. Maybe buy a Moog upper mount with the bearing included? Cavvys are susceptible to the same thing but on my wntr btr cavvy I just got a monroe gas charged strut spring mount everything for 200 bux.

do what you can. bearings are gold as you can see. 42.00 made by ***. Go figure.

PS Gloria shipped a lot of tow hooks last week and again this morning. I assume yours are in there. Hope you dont need it! lol looking good

 

If that is the issue, then it's staying that way until I need an alignment. Thanks for the info.
