Are Struts Bars a must on a lowered car?

I'm going to be lowering my car and was wondering if I needed to purchase a strut bar? Will I do any damage to my car if I don't have one?

No its perfectly safe, just a little extra suspension help (But you will need to get the car re-aligned)

so it basically just stiffens up the suspension a little bit.

A strut tower bar adds some overall rigidity to the car. It's not 100% necessary, but its better to have one. If anything I would get one just to have the complete package. Strut tower bar, front (debatable) and rear sway bars, plus whatever springs or coilover setup you're going with.

For a stut bar you do not need an alignment. All you are doing is taking two bolts of the top of the strut mount and placing the bar on. There is not need for it. The only time you need to do an alignment is when you change the suspension. Like when i put in my coilovers i need to re-align it.
