Suspension dilemma

alright im most likely buying the fe5 suspension package from ced this week if i cant find a set of used ones and i cant decide what springs to get...

since i got 18s on my ls im kinda lookin like a 4x4 and i def need to go lower. ss/tc springs are an easy buy because they are oem and provide good handling and an okay drop from what i am now but i dont think the drop will be enough for what i want. my mind has always been set on sportlines but now i keep hearing how they kill the life of your shocks and struts dramatically and now i dont think i wanna go that route. my question is, is there any other spring except pedders (too much $$$) that wont kill my shocks and struts like sportlines will? if not i guess ill just go with the ss springs...

thanx

Any spring that is lower than the stock ride height will put extra stress on the struts/shocks its just the more you drop the higher the stress level becomes.

And if you cut bumpstops you might aswell plan on blown shocks. I rode on TenzoR's for about 2 years and am still on the original shocks.

so if i completely leave the bumpstops alone the spring cant compress as far but whats it like when bumpstops smack into eachother on a large bump?

you can tell my LT is lowered (17's) and its one of the only springs along with pedders that helps handling

It will be more unconfortable but remember you are driving a lowered car, when the bumpstops hit it will be like a swift punch but it will atleast protect the shock/struts.
