suspension problem

i'm not real sure what exactly is wrong, but i think there is something wrong with my suspension. idk if its the weather, not too long ago i started noticing a weird sound coming from what sounds like my rear suspension. its been progressively getting worse. tonight was the worst its been to date. every bump i go over wether i slow down for it or not, it sounds like an old bed frame/mattress squeaking, or kinda like bad sound effects for a horror movie, haunted house floor board squeak. anyone have any ideas to what it could be? the struts or the springs? i want some kinda idea before i call my stealership.
here are the details...
its the stock suspension all around
i have 12000miles on my car, no accidents, always serviced at the dealer(just had it serviced yesterday and there were no findings from them about it), never to a track of any kind
and it was 19 degrees F when i left work today
and its almost every bump, severe or not, even expansion joints on the bridge.

Any ideas??
thanks

any thoughts at all?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
A noise may be heard from the rear of vehicle; typically 3-5 knocks during initial cold start. The noise may sound like someone outside of the vehicle is tapping on the back window or on the rear exterior body panels.

Recommendation/Instructions:
This noise is from the vehicle's EVAP canister vent solenoid going through the diagnostic cleaning cycle, which is part of the software calibration set-up. Replacing the EVAP canister may not resolve the issue when the vehicle is re-exposed to a cold start. No parts should be replaced. This should be considered a normal condition for 2007 and previous model years.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed

I changed out the springs on mine and installed coilovers. With about 18000 miles on mine I am having the same issue. Maybe some of the rear suspension parts need to be lubricated or replaced. Just my thoughts though.

A sqweek alone is not a problem. If there is rattling as well, that means something is loose. The sqweek could be coming from a number of places that are effected by the cold temps. It could be the shock itself, or the rubber mount on the trailing link of the rear axle. Those kinds of parts get hard in the cold and will sqweek. Come spring when you can get under your car again, take a look at your parts and give them a good shaking and wiggling. Make sure nothing is loose. Perhaps replace your shocks while you are at it. They are fairly cheap anyway.

I am hoping it is just the cold because I just installed a coilover system on my balt and the noise is still very much there.

I know this is a semi old thread now but...

I took my car into the dealer because my car was doing some serious squeeking whenever I hit a "rolling" bump (like a speed bump or a dip in the road) ANYWAYS... my service tech told me that it is most likely my control arm bushings. Apparently these cars are notorious for this problem. It will be fixed this week thank god!

A little update... it IS the control arm bushing causing the squeeking. The parts will be in sometime this week so hopefully that fixes the problem!
